In fact, I'm finding it hard to choose the perfect one to date. About Addison Sears-Collins Hey. That is all down to Costadating and we would like to say thank you so much for being there. North Awaits at Costa Rican Personals. Sunday nights are said to be good at La Concha De La Lora again. It's free to register, view photos, and send messages to single men and women in Costa Rica. Costa Rica Ticas: Night Game I found the nightlife in San La and San Jose to be pretty good, but it still did not make up for how much I disliked Costa Rica on the whole.

Page 1 of 2 , I am going to Costa Rica again next March 20-27 - I will be staying at the Melia in Playa Conchal for a week. I will be arriving early in San Jose but leaving thru Liberia. I want to go to a few places in the Southern part of the country before heading north Jaco, Quepos, San Jose Etc I have 4 nights to kill Anyone have any ideas? I have already been to the Arenal Volcano which is very nice. I looked into Jaco but got mixed reviews. Can anyone prove them wrong or suggest a new idea. Quepos is quiet but there are a few dance spots. The discotec didn't open until 11:30 so we would go from dinner to drinks at Epicenter then out dancing. During the four days I was there I did have one guy try to sell me drugs outside the club but the travel guides my girlfriends and I went out with shoo'd him away. I wasn't in San Jose long enough to get a good read. There was a cool restraunt at one of the highest points in the town that used to be a monestary. That is worth checking out. Its really just a small town on the ocean with one main drag and all streets branch from the main street. There are lots of hotels to pick from, both hi and lo priced. A nice small one story hotel right on the ocean is the Cocal Hotel and Casino. Stayed there twice, owned by americans and clean. But there are many more cheaper alternatives. But Jaco is not a luxury resort town like Puerta Vallarta or Rio. Its a bit rough around the edges and yes, there are hookers and drug dealers but just say no,,,, or possible yes ha ha.... You will enjoy Jaco as I have many times,,, but do take a taxi at night for security , dont think any problems in the day if you dont flaunt your bling bling.. As far as San Jose goes, just be careful and dont roam far away from the main pedestrian walkway in the day and dont walk anywhere at night, take a taxi. Socal val,,, The Monastery resturant is very cool indeed. Its actually in Escazu, the hi class suburb of San Jose about 10 miles or so from downtown. I hung out many years in and near Escazu. There are a lot of nice resturants and clubs ect near there. On some of the other CR posts I have given a lot more info. Jaco is good for 2 nights. I stayed at a hostel across from KFC and had a blast meeting great people to hang with and they had lots of information on where to go or not to waist my time going to. If you need any other advice I'll keep an eye out for you on this topic. Have a good one. But if you stay in bright and busy places you will be ok. Just don't walk around with shiny rings or chains. While I was eating dinner I had beggers stick their hands through the window while I was eating! The place had security to move them away it was bothersome. I would highly recommend white water rafting , riding ATVs in the rainforest or deep sea fishing! I'm sure you will have a great time! As far as Latin American go, its probably the safest, which isnt saying much. I would stay away from Jaco, theres a lot of whores and petty criminals, especially at night. Like anywhere south of the border, you have to take basic precautions. Dont wear expensive jewelry, or carry a wallet with cash and credit cards. Dont travel alone at night, or in the outlying areas. Drink bottled water and eat only at the better hotels and restaurants. Theres a lot of nasty diseases and parasites you can get, including Chagras disease. It is a parasite that is transmitted by a bug, often called the kissing bug. As you sleep it bites and sucks blood, often near the mouth, hence the name, transmitting the parasite, which is a really nasty one. It can also be transmitted through contaminated food. The parasite infests the heart, and it is eventually fatal. Treatments for the disease are ineffectual and toxic. I would highly recommend Quepos. Very close to the most beautiful park in CR, Manuel Antonio. Just a short hop on a local bus. Would also recommend staying at Wide Mouth Frog in Quepos. Lovely hostel with a really nice pool, free breakfast and internet access. Safe and secure at night as it is gated entry. Quepos very safe and a good nighttime scene. Would have to agree about Jaco as it is getting kind of seedy. Fo9r the nicest beach in CR I would recommend Playa Samara. Soft white sand and small surf. Lovely boutique hotel is Hotel Giada. Two great pools, a nice bar and trattoria with really good Italian and a free breakfast as well. Room service, hot water and cable tv. Really nice safe town. This is where the Josefinos with money vacation. We're staying in a villa in Manuel Antonio. I believe we will be getting the best of both worlds in this area. Think we're going to try ziplining. Even though I'm afraid of heights, sometimes I like make myself overcome fears. This is our first time, so we are looking for much to do. We fly into to San Jose and have about 3 hrs to Manuel Antonio. Does anyone know how to get around over there, buses or do we need a taxi. The cost for a Taxi, I'm afraid would be outrageous for a 3 hr trip? The beaches and surrounding areas are beaufiful. I liked it because it was alot less touristy and more remote. I thought they were very dirty and there were so many seedy looking characters about. All the houses have bars on the windows and are surrounded by barb-wire. I can see that in Cleveland! Instead of going back to Costa Rica next year, I think I want to try Panama instead. I have heard nothing but good things about it.
